SUNSTONE
Regenerative Medicine
Sunstone Regenerative Medicine is now open in Southern Colorado to offer cutting edge non-invasive treatment options for many of the joint and musculoskeletal conditions that cause pain and disability. The surgeon partners in the clinic are all fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeons with a combined experience of 65 years of practice in Colorado Springs. They will oversee your exams and treatments with the highest level of technical and clinical expertise available.
Our Process
Your journey towards reduced pain and improved function begins with a thorough orthopaedic evaluation. This includes a discussion to define your symptoms, physical examination and expert review of your radiographic studies (X-Rays and MRI). If we determine that you could benefit from these treatments, the injections are done using image guidance for maximum safety and effectiveness.
The conditions that can be treated include:
-
Arthritis ( knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, ankle, wrist, thumb, and other joints)
-
Tendinitis ( tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, golfer’s elbow)
-
Ligament tears (MCL of knee or elbow)
-
Partial rotator cuff tears
-
Hamstring tendon or muscle injuries
-
Cervical and lumbar disc disease
-
Neuropathy and Neuropathic pain.
The options for treatment include sources from the patient (autograft) or donated tissue (allograft).
Autograft
-
Platelet rich plasma (PRP)
-
Bone marrow concentrate
-
Adipose tissue
Allograft
-
Umbilical cord tissue and cord blood
-
Amniotic membrane or fluid
All of these have shown promise in treating various conditions when applied appropriately.

The Outcome
Our patients are looking for faster recovery, less invasive alternatives to surgery, or perhaps just trying to delay surgery. We only offer treatments that studies have shown to be safe and effective. Further, we only offer treatments to those patients whose goals of treatment are consistent with what we believe they can achieve by receiving them.
This is a rapidly changing field and you deserve treatment from fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons who understand the nuances of the musculoskeletal system, surgical treatment options and the surgical alternatives. Many patients can benefit from a regenerative treatment alone, however, there are specific conditions where your best response to regenerative therapy will be attained in conjunction with a surgical procedure. You can be confident that our providers will not offer you a treatment unless they truly believe that it will help you.
